Hello. My name is Abby Miller, and I am going to share some information about Anne Frank.
This is Anne, age twelve, writing at her school desk.
Birth and ChildhoodAnne Frank was a German – Jewish girl. She had lived in the Netherlands during German occupation. She had an older sister named Margot. Her parents were Otto and Edith Frank. Anne’s birthday is on June 12th, 1929. She was a very outspoken, intelligent, and independent young girl. Before being hiding, Anne enjoyed going out to get ice- cream and playing ping pong. After Anne and her family went into hiding, she spent most of her time studying French, history and shorthand.
After the Frank family was arrested, Anne's diary was kept by Miep Gies, one of the people who helped to hide Anne and her family. The diary was published after the war in many different languages.

This is Anne's original diary which she kept while hiding.
After the Franks were caught in hiding, Anne and her sister Margot were transferred to Bergen - Belson, a camp in northern Germany. Both sisters died from typhus in March 1945, just a few weeks before British troops liberated Bergen - Belson.
